Backpack Program

Hope House Backpack Program

Every year, Hope House organizes a city-wide Guelph Community Backpack program. The Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition is a program partner in this initiative. Together, we are working to ensure as many children as possible receive brand new backpacks filled with grade-appropriate supplies.

The application process is very straightforward: we gather only enough information about the student in order to offer brand new backpacks with customized supplies.

The waitlist is now active. The link above will take you to the waitlist form managed by Hope house.
It may also be accessed through the charity’s website

>> Please choose Grange Hill East NG as your preferred pickup location if you live within the boundaries of our neighbourhood (link to google map).

Team volunteer opportunity

Would you and your friends or co-workers like to volunteer together? We have found in the past that this is a great opportunity to work as a team (of 5+) to do a bottle or funding drive to raise extra money for much-needed school supplies and snacks.

Your team will then participate in organizing the backpack event. This will include sorting supplies, making posters, and setting community room up “market style" so that our distribution event will run smoothly.

Check out the video below of this teen team that helped out last year.
